Glesmann Project
The Glesmann Project was creating a quiet place for this couple to escape, to pray. read, and paint. We replaced all the existing storm windows as the only purpose they help was to block the wind. They were a single painted aluminum framed storm widow. Replacing those with ones that were double pained with a vapor barrier to assist with temperature regulation with a UV film to protect her art. We floated the concrete "patio slab" so we could cover it with a ceramic tile. We added more insulation in the walls and the ceiling as there wasn't much to control the temperature in the space. We repainted the walls a warm color and the trim a deeper brown tone to play with the highs & lows of color. The end product was really lovely and they spend time in their special place daily.
